Hi. I'm Melissa.
As a professional writer, my portfolio reflects an enthusiasm for diversity and an appreciation for challenges that encourage creativity, growth, and meaning, in both my life and my work.
I have a wide range of experiences that include both online and printed articles, viral blog posts, multi-channel digital marketing, SEO content, web copy, grant writing, education curriculum, social justice reform, research, academic writing, journalism, press releases, speech writing, advocacy projects...and more.
My areas of expertise include education, nonprofit administration, marketing, underserved community organization, and writing/editing. I am blessed to claim a colorful and rewarding background, and I look forward to continuing a career that's filled with surprise.
I believe in providing high-quality content, developing professional subject knowledge, and delivering top-notch excellence to every client that I serve. My goal is to help clients communicate their brand clearly and effectively by providing them with their own professional voice.
I have a BS degree in Justice Sciences/ English from the University of Alabama. From there, I went on to obtain my MAT in Education from Belmont University in Nashville where I graduated among the top of my cohort with a 3.98 GPA. I received my COMP certification from Peabody College at Vanderbilt (Nashville, TN). After graduation, I became certified to teach in Tennessee and Alabama and I currently hold my Montessori teaching credential.
For me, it's not just about writing. It's about learning and growing professionally while helping others to create their own success stories.
